Audio Tapes & Records
Audio files are generally delivered in an MP3 format (except for CDs). CDs will be in the industry standard lossless WAV format. If you require a lossless format, WAV is available for all audio files. There is a file size difference between the two – an MP3 album recorded at 192 KBPS will take up 50-60 MBs, while the same album recorded with lossless WAV will take up to 500-600 MBs recorded at 1411 KBPS. Any albums will include metadata, and all songs will be labeled and in order.

Frequently Asked Questions
Should I get my audio files in MP3 or WAV format?
For the average listener, MP3 files are a great option for their compatibility and smaller size. Even though some data and sounds are cut for the compression process, this is usually not noticed by the average listener. If you are an audiophile enthusiast and using your recordings for production or mixing, we would recommend WAV. All audio requested on a music CD will be in the industry standard lossless WAV format.
How will my vinyl record be prepared for recording?
All records will be inspected, cleaned, and lubricated to ensure the best sound production possible.
What if my cassette tape is damaged?
All tapes will be inspected upon receipt, and the level of damage will be determined at our discretion. If the tape film has separated from the tape reel or has snapped, it can usually be mended with minimal loss. In this instance, the cassette will be opened, and the tape will be repaired and given a new plastic case. Some tapes may also require a new pressure pad. Any repairs will not be guaranteed.
What size vinyl records can be recorded?
We work with 33 and 45 records. We are unable to record 78s or shellac records.
